The inspiration for my work comes from my fascination with materials and techniques. Some of the materials that are found in my work are sand, tissue paper, shoe polish, photographs, wood, mirrors, gold leaf, and pastels to name a few. Some of the techniques I use are scratching, sanding, gluing, painting, and layering. I love the actual hands on process of creating a painting with the finished result being textural and tactile.

I received a B.F.A degree from Columbia College Chicago where I graduated with honors, won the Pougialus Award, and received an apprenticeship with Bonnie Hartenstein. It was there that my interest in exploring different mediums grew.

Currently, I am drawn to combine my art with my study of the Bible.   My passion for Jewish history and culture, Christian theology, and archeology are the main focus of my work.  I hope my paintings inspire the viewer not only by the richness of the textures, colors, and images, but also by the richness of the ancient scriptures, culture, and history.
